The contest is open only for the students of age 18 or older around the world (except for few countries) because Google believes that the student community would be keen to accept the challenge and they wanted to inculcate and promote photography. This might be another plan to promote Google Plus, which claims to more than 3.4 billion pictures uploaded in initial 100 days. Needless to say, Google Plus has amazing photo managing and editing capabilities which they would like to showcase through this contest. Select any of the 10 categories, and upload up to eight of your best pictures on Google Plus with proper category tag. Then fill out submission form here. #. How many entries can one person have? You are restricted to only one category and one submission. However, you can upload up to eight pictures in that category. #. When is the deadline of the contest? 31st January 2012. #. What are the categories? You can submit photographs under Me, Food, Travel, Fashion, Action, Street, Sport, Night, Sound/Silence, Point of View categories. #. What is the judging criteria? Curators from Saatchi Gallery, London will shortlisting interesting and creative photographs. Then a jury of photography professionals will choose winners. The numbers of +1’s will not be a judging criteria. #. What are the requirements? Original photographs, which have not been submitted anywhere else can only be submitted. Even mobile pictures will do. There is one restriction on picture size. It has to be 2048 pixels along the longest edge.
