Huawei will soon launch its premium handset Ascend P7 in India and 500 units of the same have already reached Indian shores, according to import data. Huawei has tasted some sweet success with Honor 6 and Honor Holly recently introduced in India by sticking to an aggressive pricing model.
The new Ascend P7 features a 5 Inch IPS LCD display with full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The hanset will be powered by Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A9 based HiSilicon Kirin 910T processor with Mali 450 GPU, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB expandable storage. Imaging hardware is also top notch, with a 13 MP rear camera capable of full HD video recording and an 8 MP front camera for detailed selfies. There is a 2500 mAh battery inside which is expected to last for one day usage.
Ascend P7 is the successor of Ascend P6, which once held the slimmest title belt. Huawei isn’t aiming for the title belt with P7, but it is still extremely slim at 6.5 mm with sharp edges and glass back cover. Other features include Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Emotion UI, 64 GB MicroSD card slot, 3G, WiFi, GPS, GLONASS, USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Since Honor 6 is already selling at 19,999 INR, Huawei will have a very difficult time trying to match its value for money factor. Huawei Ascend P7 will focus on both internal hardware prowess and external beauty. Judging by the import price of 18,550 INR, it is expected to launch for under 25K INR. The price is still far lesser than what was announced at Ascend P7’s official launch (449 Euros) in the first quarter of 2014.
