Talking about the development, it has come just two weeks after Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global announced the Android Oreo rollout for the Nokia 6 (2018) model. It was then promised that we will see the same update for the first gen device in the coming days. It is an OTA update which is around 1,659MB in size.

HMD Global has kept its promise with yet another timely update. After this update, the Nokia 6 (2017) will run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo. The update is rolling out for the Chinese as well as the Global variant of the phone. This 1659MB over-the-air update brings you a more refined Settings menu, Notification badges, background apps management, battery optimization, and other features from Android 8.0 Oreo. To recall, the Nokia 6 (2017) is a mid-range offering and features a 5.5 inch full HD display with 2.5D curved Glass with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The optics are handled by a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a dual-tone dual LED flash. On the front, you get an 8MP wide-angle lens, also with f/2.0 aperture. In terms of hardware, the Nokia 6 (2017) is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor, coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. This combination is complemented by 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage along with up to 128GB expandable memory via microSD card.
