Revamped Google Calendar UI For Desktop: What’s New
As seen in the image above, the new UI for the calendar is heavily inspired from Google’s material design style. This design has been around since 2014 and Google has slowly been implementing it in all their apps. Classic features of the material design includes a carded design style, floating rounded buttons and a more polished look and feel compared to the older, flatter design in the past. In another change (as seen below), the individual dates on the Google Calendar week view have been made bigger and bolder, which make it more pleasant to look at. Another major change that comes to the Google Calendar for Desktop is that the settings menu has received a major overhaul. The existing settings look like they have come straight out of some 90s website. However, with this new, redesigned UI, Google has finally had some mercy on the users and has updated the way the settings look and feel. The new settings now look in line with most other settings of Google apps. Here’s a look at the new settings UI: These screenshots were first spotted on Reddit and it looks like they have come from a user’s corporate account which has been given an early access to the new Google Calendar UI. The person who shared these leaked images stated that the as of now the UI is not rolling out to the users at large and no dates can be confirmed.
